Concerts in the Park 2026 – Polliwog Park

The Manhattan Beach Concerts in the Park returns to Polliwog Park for the 2026 season, presented by Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation in partnership with the City of Manhattan Beach and sponsored by Chevron. Running every Sunday from July 5 through Labor Day weekend on September 6, this beloved free event features 10 performances spanning everything from ABBA tributes and classic rock to Afro-Latin rhythms and Big Band sounds. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics and enjoy the music under the evening California sky. Seating is first come, first served — arrive early for the best spots on the lawn. Carpooling, walking, and rideshare are encouraged as parking near the park can be limited during the series.

63rd Annual Manhattan Beach Grand Prix

Now in its 63rd year, the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix (MBGP) continues its legacy as one of the oldest and most prestigious single-day cycling races in the United States, tracing its roots back to local cycling icon Ted Ernst in 1962. The 1.3-mile counter-clockwise course on Valley and Ardmore is renowned for its technical challenges — two sweeping 180° turns and a deceptive uphill stretch near the finish line — drawing elite athletes and community racers alike from six continents. Start and finish are at Joslyn Center at Live Oak Park. Online registration closes Friday, July 10th; race-day registration opens at 6:00 AM at the desk next to Joslyn Center. With nearly 1,000 racers and thousands of spectators, plus a lively vendor area and food court, the MBGP is a true highlight of the Southern California cycling calendar.

International Surf Festival 2026

The 63rd International Surf Festival returns to Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and Torrance, showcasing the South Bay beach cities and the unparalleled skill of their lifeguard services. Drawing participants of all ages — from youngsters barely out of the shallows to seasoned veterans — the festival is a testament to the enduring allure of the sea. Signature events include the Judge Taplin Lifeguard Medley Relay, the Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim, and the iconic Charlie Saikley 6-Man Volleyball Tournament. The Charlie Saikley 6-Man Beach Volleyball Tournament stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Charlie Saikley, the visionary "Godfather of Beach Volleyball" who founded the event in 1974. Combining world-class competition with festive team costumes and a spirit of community, the tournament welcomes amateur players competing alongside the best on the beach. Pier-area parking lots and surrounding streets will be closed beginning Thursday, July 30 — plan to arrive by bike or rideshare for the smoothest experience. Please note this event draws massive crowds; early arrival is strongly encouraged.

The Main Draw features 32 teams in a double-elimination format, while the two-day Qualifier sees up to 77 teams compete in single-elimination rounds.
