Venice Beach is a classic Californian surf break where shortboarding was pioneered in the 70s. This well-known hipster beach and popular surfing destination is home to many local surfers.
The swells at Venice Beach are famously mellow. The best swells are located along the famed Venice Breakwater between the Venice and Santa Monica Piers. Rocks underneath the water’s surface at the Venice Fishing Pier create larger waves, creating a strong riptide and the perfect surfing conditions for experienced riders.
