Paradise Falls in Wildwood Park

Paradise Falls in Wildwood Park, Thousand Oaks

Who can say no to a waterfall? In this case, the photogenic water feature is the 40-foot-tall Paradise Falls, tucked into Wildwood Park in Thousand Oaks.

Paradise Falls, also referred to as Wildwood Falls, is a beautiful 40-foot waterfall that flows into a large water pool in the canyons of Wildwood Park. The hike to Paradise Falls is about 1.5 miles one way with around 300 feet elevation change. Thanks to an almost excessive network of trails, Paradise Falls may be reached via several routes. If you're inclined to extend your hike, there are several trails surrounding the falls, most of which loop back to the main parking lot. You may choose to hike up to Lizard Rock before returning to the trailhead across the mesa, completing a grand tour of Wildwood Park.

Wildwood Regional Park includes 1,765 acres of sweeping grasslands, Paradise Falls, Lizard Rock, and some unique eroded rock formations like Indian Cave. After a short quarter-mile on the Mesa Trail, you will experience a commanding panorama of the Mountclef Ridge on your right, Lizard Rock straight ahead of you, and the intriguing drop-off of the home canyon of the Arroyo Conejo. There are six picnic areas right along the canyon near Paradise Falls. Sycamore Flats Picnic Area, downstream from the falls, has public restrooms.
