The breakwater consists of a sand bar, piping, and large rocks at its end, which provide shelter and create a unique surfing experience. It is the only spot on the beach where waves break on both sides, providing ample opportunity for surfers to catch a wave.

The beach breaks at the Venice Breakwater offer both lefts and rights, and the sand is reputed to be the finest for creating sand sculptures. However, surfers must beware of the rocks, locals, and rips that can be present at times.
