Venice Beach Recreation Center is a sprawling park situated on the beachfront of the Pacific Ocean in Venice, California. The park has three regulation-sized basketball courts and one stadium-sized court for basketball enthusiasts. The two dedicated children's play areas offer swings and slides, while the gymnastics area, also known as the "sand pit," features two rings set, high and low parallel bars, a balance bar, a horizontal bar, and two climbing ropes. The Skatepark spans over 27,000 square feet and includes two bowls, a snake run, rails, and stairs. Visitors can rent a board or take lessons from Maui and Sons, located on the Oceanfront Walk. The park also has a Skate Plaza, Roller Skate Plaza, Handball Courts, Paddle Tennis Courts, and a Bike Path that runs along the beach and spans 17 miles from Pacific Palisades to the Palos Verdes peninsula.
The Venice Beach Recreation Center has no membership fees, except for Muscle Beach Gym, and all courts are first come first serve. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities and facilities to cater to the diverse interests of visitors. ROLLER SKATE PLAZA: Live D.J. and dancing every weekend.
BIKE PATH: 17 miles, from Pacific Palisades to the Palos Verdes peninsula.
HANDBALL COURTS: 4 three wall courts and 3 one wall courts. All courts first come first serve.
PADDLE TENNIS COURTS: 11 courts. All courts first come first serve.
BOXING AREA: 6 speedbag platforms, 2 heavy bag areas.
CHILDREN’S PARK: 2 play areas with swings and slides.
GYMNASTIC AREA: 2 rings set, high and low parallel bars, balance bar, horizontal bar, and 2 climbing ropes.
BASKETBALL COURTS: 3 regulation & 1 stadium size court.
MUSCLE BEACH GYM: Outdoor gym with free weights, machines, power rack, powerlifting bumpers & more.
