Ovation Hollywood

Located in the heart of Hollywood, California, Ovation Hollywood (formerly known as Hollywood & Highland) is a shopping center and entertainment complex that has become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. With more than 70 shops and 25 restaurants, a six-plex movie theater, a bowling alley, and a nightclub, this complex offers something for everyone. But what sets it apart from other shopping centers is its rich history and unique design.

The centerpiece of the complex is a massive three-story courtyard that is inspired by the Babylon scene from the D.W. Griffith film Intolerance. The developer of the shopping center built parts of the archway and two pillars with elephant sculptures on the capitals to the same full scale as seen in the film. This gives visitors an idea of how large the original set must have been. Walking through the courtyard, one can't help but feel transported back in time to the golden age of Hollywood.

But Ovation Hollywood is not just a nod to Hollywood's past. It also embraces the present and future of the entertainment industry. The complex houses television broadcast facilities, including studios for the daily talk show On Air With Ryan Seacrest (now home to Revolt TV), as well as 65,000 square feet of gathering spaces including the Grand Ballroom, used for the Oscars Governors Ball. Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck operates his regional headquarters out of the complex, adding to its reputation as a hub of creativity and innovation.

The site of Ovation Hollywood has a rich history that predates the shopping center. It was the location of the 1902 Hollywood Hotel, in which many celebrities stayed in the early days of Hollywood. Today, the 637-room Loews Hollywood Hotel is also part of the site, offering luxury accommodations for visitors to the area.

In addition to its entertainment offerings, Ovation Hollywood is also a transportation hub. The Metro B Line's Hollywood/Highland station is located beneath the structure, providing easy access for those traveling by subway. Several Metro Local lines also serve the complex, making it a convenient destination for those traveling by bus.

Ovation Hollywood is a unique and multifaceted destination that offers a glimpse into the past, present, and future of Hollywood. With its stunning architecture, diverse range of shops and restaurants, and exciting entertainment options, it is a must-visit destination for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the glamour and allure of the movie industry.
