Sunday, March 10, 2024
The 96th Academy Awards proved to be a night of memorable moments, from Ryan Gosling's infectious "Kenergy" to John Cena's bold birthday suit statement, all under the expert guidance of the ever-entertaining Jimmy Kimmel. However, the spotlight rightfully shone on the winners, with Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" claiming an impressive seven awards, including Best Picture, while "Poor Things" earned four statues. With 13 nominations, "Oppenheimer" dominated the night alongside "Poor Things" and Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon." Despite its buzz, "Killers of the Flower Moon" left the ceremony empty-handed, and "Barbie," a box office sensation, secured only a win in the Best Original Song category. Standout victors included Da’Vine Joy Randolph for Best Supporting Actress, the gripping drama "The Zone of Interest" for Best International Feature, and the enchanting "The Boy and the Heron" for Best Animated Feature, adding diversity and excellence to the roster of acclaimed films. For the complete list of winners, the audience was treated to an array of talents and cinematic achievements.
